Just got a latest gadget for myself

Just purchased a new PDA to meet my needs since my previous 2 is still not able to meet all my requirements. Will touch on that before I go on to reveal what I got and why.

My IBM Thinkpad C3 (Clone of Palm Vx) meets most of the requirement, long battery life (actually use to read ebook and still can last quite long. Best ebook reader PDA, provided the ebook is small enough and use Tall fonts hack.) and meets most of the PIM function meets my requirement, with many free and available software to meet my needs. However, cannot have files to large (internal memory only 8MB and no available expansion slot). One of the best experience that I have with a PDA and it is also Palm OS. BTW, I even got a Palm keyboard for this guy to do my assignments when I still pursuing a degree.

Also got a DELL AXIM X3 Pocket PC. Fast (ARM 400 Mhz CPU), coloured PDA, expansion slot available (use 512MB SD card) and most of the software that I need are available here as well. Freewares here are more limited compared to Palm ones but still ok for most of them. Main complain is that it drains power too fast due to colour screen and fast CPU. If reading ebook, need charging within 1-2 hrs time. Just found that there is a powersave mode but I think still falls short of my requirement for longer battery life. Also since sort of entry level PDA, no bluetooth and WiFi. I can still live with limited connectivity but not battery life.

Finally, I was searching the net for a few weeks looking for a new toy to meet my needs. I even ask for advice if I need more connectivity. Since there is so many free WiFi (hotspots) available, it makes sense to get one with WiFi since it cost only $100++ more with one that does not have. Found someone selling this PDA and after negotiation, got it for $380. May not be the cheapest since I do not ask for lower price and RRP is $549 (actually can get $499 or lower, which did not consider this since did not go SLS to check price).

So I meet up with the seller yesterday and got myself a new ...... Palm T|X for $380. It comes with a silicon case, which I just found out it is not good enough since it cannot cover the screen. So will be looking for a leather case or hardcase (have not decided yet). This PDA is the latest offering from Palm (previously PalmOne. Not sure why change name got any difference.) that has 128MB RAM, comes with WiFi and bluetooth and better software package includeded as a standard package. Have known to accept 1 GB SD cards, not sure how much capacity it can accept. Only problem is MMC cards got some minor issue (don't have these). Just that the graffi 2 need some time to learn after you know graffi 1. Have managed to find quite a lot of software to install yesterday night (until 3am) and have checked that the WiFi works in Mac when I was having breakfast this morning. So all in all, no complains for my new toy as of now. Also gave my Dell Axim X3 to my wife (had to help her configure for her use so very busy and she loves simple games which not easy to get for PPC ones). Will post the picture of the new PDA here when I have the time.

Search for a peace of mind ...

I have been trying to get some peace in my mind since it seems like it never stop with running thoughts. I have decided to take some time to study Meditation in hope to achieve the peace of my mind that I always wanted, since I know physical relaxation has limited effects on me. I have borrowed 2 Meditation books, Meditation Express and A Gaia Busy Person's Guide - Meditation. Meditation Express interestingly lets you mediate within a short period of time, up to a minute or longer. A Gaia Busy Person's Guide - Meditation book has many illustrations which leads to a point a picture speaks a thousand words. To layman like myself, sometimes words are not enough for me to visualise what it mean so this book would serve as a guide as well. I have also registered for Meditation classes which begins on 18 Jul 06. However, all these only can serve as a guide since ultimately I still need to practice meditation which I always have excuses not to do it. By registering for the meditation class, it would be the first step that I would take since I still think I need some proper guidence on this art.

Hopefully I can find the peace that I have been searching for...
